Using Shamir's Secret Sharing, your master key is split so that any 3 of 5 shares rebuild it — and any 2 reveal absolutely nothing. One share alone is random noise.

All three of your people together still cannot open your vault while you're alive — because our server's share is never released without the full release process. And we alone can never open it either — one share is useless. Your vault opens only when family keys and the Diary Vault key turn together, at the same moment, in a live session. If anyone leaves the session, the vault re-locks. Every single item anyone views is written into an audit log that all your trustees can see, and every screen is watermarked with the viewer's name — like a bank vault with two officers, CCTV, and a ledger.
